Pastor Eric Riesen Stepping Down

The North American Lutheran Seminary (NALS) announces that President, Rev. Dr. Eric M. Riesen, will step down in January 2025 to focus on other vocations and projects. Appointed in January 2020, Dr. Riesen has been a dedicated leader, significantly contributing to the seminary’s growth and spiritual mission. The Board of Regents will begin the search for his successor, ensuring continued excellence at NALS.

NALS Calls New Full-time Faculty Member and Adds Gordon-Conwell to Its Network

NALS Welcomes The Rev. Dr. Nathan Yoder and Gordon-Conwell to Its Network

The North American Lutheran Seminary (NALS) has announced the call of Rev. Dr. Nathan Howard Yoder as a full-time faculty member and director of the Lutheran Studies at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary’s Charlotte campus. This partnership will extend the NALS network to the southeastern United States, providing opportunities for regional theological and pastoral formation across the entire North American Lutheran Church (NALC). Yoder, a gifted theologian, has previously served as an adjunct faculty member for NALS and will continue to serve as pastor of St. Martin’s Lutheran Church in North Carolina. This unique partnership will be the first network school, besides the Seminary Center at Trinity School for Ministry, to have a full-time faculty member serving and teaching.
