{"id":4588,"date":"2022-09-14T20:27:41","date_gmt":"2022-09-14T20:27:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thenals.org\/?p=4588"},"modified":"2022-09-14T20:31:48","modified_gmt":"2022-09-14T20:31:48","slug":"dr-david-yeagos-retirement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thenals.org\/dr-david-yeagos-retirement\/","title":{"rendered":"Dr. David Yeago&#8217;s Retirement"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><b>Dr. David Yeago has retired<\/b>\u00a0as Professor of Systematic Theology and Ethics for the North American Lutheran Seminary and Trinity School for Ministry.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Prior to coming to the NALS in 2014, Dr. Yeago taught for more than two decades at Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in Columbia, South Carolina.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cSince the beginning of the North American Lutheran Seminary, Dr. Yeago has been a blessing to our students and our church body. His insightful understanding of Scripture and the Lutheran Confessions, along with his faithful and fervent love for the Gospel of our Lord Jesus have set a positive example and course for our future,\u201d said NALC Bishop Dan Selbo. \u201cOn behalf of the NALC, we thank Dr. Yeago for his many years of teaching, for his service on the NALC Commission on Theology and Doctrine, and for the significant role he has played in shaping and molding pastors and leaders for the Church.\u201d<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor the last several decades Dr. David Yeago has helped to form a cadre of orthodox and faithful Lutheran pastors. His former students often speak of the importance David had in their formation and continues to have in their ministries. He possesses that rare blend of academic rigor combined with a deep piety and love for the Church. The NALS is truly blessed to have him as a founding faculty member,\u201d said the Rev. Dr. Eric Riesen, NALS president.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>A symposium and retirement celebration honoring Dr. Yeago\u2019s career was held on Friday, June 17, at the NALS Seminary Center at Trinity School for Ministry in Ambridge, Pennsylvania. The symposium was entitled <b><i>\u201cScripture, the Reformation and Catholic Tradition: Engaging the Work of Dr. David Yeago.\u201d<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":3,"featured_media":4590,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[105,34],"tags":[],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v22.5 -
