The Gift of an Aging Church

The Gift of An Aging Church with the Rev. Brad Hales
April 4, 11, 18 & 25, 7-8:30 p.m. EST
In “The Gift of an Aging Church,” the Rev. Brad Hales, NALC Director of Renewal Ministries, will explore the dynamics of aging congregations and how churches can use the opportunity for renewal and mission, as well as evangelism and discipleship. As mature adults grow in their faith and passion for Jesus, it will profoundly affect the church as a whole. This four-part series is free and open to all as a continuing education opportunity.
The book for the course is “An Age of Opportunity: Intentional Ministry by, with, and for Older Adults” by Richard Gentzler. There is no cost to join, but please purchase a copy of the book ahead of time.
The Rev. Brad Hales, a native of Delta, OH, is currently the pastor at Culpepper VA-based Reformation Lutheran Church and has also served parishes in Maryland and upstate New York over his nearly 25 years of ordained ministry. He focuses on renewing, redeveloping and starting new churches for growth and greater involvement in their communities. He can be seen outside the church on weekends waving to the passing cars. With a passion for God’s Word, outreach and senior adult ministry, Pastor Hales helped to start “The Place,” a daily “drop in” center for older adults in the Culpeper community. The Reformation Lutheran Church has also received the “Best Practices Award” in senior adult ministry by the National Council on Aging.
